Hello, World — Starting Fresh

Every site has to start somewhere, and this is mine.

I've been meaning to put together a proper personal site for years now — somewhere to gather my work, share what I'm learning, and write without the noise of social media. Today, that finally happened.

Why now?

Partly out of necessity. As a designer and developer, having a portfolio is table stakes. But more than that, I've been feeling the pull toward slower, more considered output. A personal site felt like the right antidote to the constant churn of feeds and notifications.

There's something about owning your own corner of the web that feels important. I get to decide the format, the tone, the pacing. No algorithm, no character limits.

What you'll find here

This blog will be a mix of things:

  • Process notes — behind-the-scenes looks at how I approach design and development problems
  • Reflections — thoughts on craft, creativity, and working at the intersection of aesthetics and engineering
  • Discoveries — things I've read, tools I've found useful, ideas I'm mulling over

I'm not aiming for a posting schedule or viral content. Just writing when I have something worth saying.

The site itself

I built this with Eleventy, a static site generator that I've come to love for its simplicity and flexibility. The design is intentionally minimal — dark background, warm type, clean layout. I wanted the content to breathe.

Thanks for stopping by. More soon.
